I think you may need to be a bit more specific but generally speaking there is no reason why it wouldn't run. I ran many distributions on a pair of Pentium IV processors I had without much trouble. What you may need to do though is ensure you have plenty of RAM if you are running a recent distribution. Just last week I rescued a P4 box - I loaded Ubuntu on it and it was a bit sluggish. I was going to run maybe Xubuntu but I checked and it only had 128MB of RAM. I pulled out a 1GB DIMM of the correct spec I had handy and dropped it in and the machine ran really well. It booted as fast as most machines and ran fine with a few applications open including Firefox and Rhythmbox.

usually processors aren't the problem, it's memory, as long as you have 512m or more you should be able to run just about any distro
