    Mesessed up desktop screen

    When I booted up Fedora for the first time from a live CD the image that I got was...deformed, see the photo i took of it in the attachment, and sorry that I could not take a screen shot, you will understand why when you see it


    EDIT: great, not the attachemt will not show, lets just say that i can see the colors right, sort of but no shape is right and i can not see my mouse, you cant do anything with that

    Which Graphics Card do you have?
    Does LiveCD give an option like Safe Graphics Mode/Vesa at startup?
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    this is all of the options that it gives me:
    Boot
    Verify and Boot
    Memory Test
    Boot from local drive

    and graphics card...3dfx Voodoo3

    Press F4 and try Safe Graphics Mode.
