    quick questions on fedora.

I'm actually Ubuntu user,I want to try fedora.so,i've decided to download the iso and i went to fedoraproject.org.there I found several different iso's to download
    1.fedora installable DVD
    2.fedora installable CD
    3.and also a list of 6 CD's.
I'm confused to select whether i386 or i686.
Mine is Intel pentium Dual core processor.

are these cd's are live(can we try fedora without installing)?
will fedora recognize my Ubuntu and windows loaders if Triboot it?
I'll be very much grateful,if any body comes forward to help me.

You'll want the i686 version if you have a recent dual core processor. You might even want the 64-bit version of Fedora if you have 4GB of RAM or more.

I think the DVD is a live version but don't believe the 6-CD set will be.

The DVD version has far more software included with it, but it will also be a bigger download, and of course you will need a blank DVD disk to burn it on.

Many of the live versions only come in 32-bit, but can be put on i386 or i686. I'm not sure about the one you are looking at and this may be something you want to double check if you go down that route.

It should, in theory, but I've not actually tried that scenario myself. However, even if Fedora's bootloader overwrites your existing one you can fix it after the fact.

Check this short article for info on CPU naming schemes:

It covers i386 vs i686 and more.

I have read that before and my earlier post should have been for x86 or x86_64. Thanks for catching that.
