Red Hat EL5 as Domain child
Hi,
where I work we just got a red hat server as a backup machine(uname -a 2.6.18-164.15.1.el5)
I was hoping to add it to our domain, our PDC is a Suse novell/ldap type domain controller, as I was hoping to get it to authenticate usernames and passwords from the PDC.
I have no clue how to add red hat to a linux domain
any search I do on google invariably gets you how-to's on adding linux OS's to M$ domains, but not on adding linux servers to Linux based domains
For now I would really love it if someone could at least point me in the right direction as to what I need to do to make this box part of the current domain (ie what packages should it have, what are the main files to edit, smb.conf, slap.d ldap ???)
If I get that far then I can worry about authentication etc later,
I just really have no clue atm.
Any help will be rewarded with chocolate smarties
!!
