If you have a recent version of RHEL or Fedora, you can use the 'yum' command to install the package. If it's an older one, you can use 'rpm'. In either case, you can have more than one version of the gcc tool chain installed on your system. I have 3.4, 4.1, and 4.4 installed on mine.

yum wasn't native in RHEL 4, and is a PITA to get working there. But I'm guessing that OP can't update with up2date because there's no valid entitlement/subscription.

Do you get a message indicating that, SanemA?

rpm.pbone.net does not list gcc-4.3.2 for RHEL 4. It does for Fedora, its free cousin. You may want to download the package directly. I think it requires libstdc++-v3.

    Download it from here: ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gcc/gcc-4.3.2/
