    can't install .rpm

    hi,
    1) which rpm?
    2) where did you get it?
    3) which distro are you using?
    4) what version of that distro?
    5) 32bit or 64bit?

    the adobe flash plug in and the fluendo codec for mp3

    fedora 12 with kde 32 bit

    Have you tried installing with yum?

    yum install flash-plugin

    But I notice that it requires enabling several extra repos. While it might not happen, that could lead to some nasty conflicts with software and the related dependencies.
    Probably better to just stick with the the tried and true repos from Fusion and/or Livna.

    Just my opinion, though

    Just rpmfusion, flash, and the Fedora ones. You can disable any of these that don't strike your fancy.
