Does RHEL support kernel 2.6? or do we have to use FC exclusively to use the new stuff?

You will need to download the kernel and recompile. I know is supported by Fedora.

    Hi,
you can definitely upgrade any RH to 2.6.* . But there are many issues involved. The most troubling one is the boot up scripts and modprobe.
They need to be modified and also a new version and replacement to modutils i.e module-init-tools must be installed.

Try googling around for how to upgrade RH9 to use 2.6 kernel and you will get lots of helpful links.

    Bye.
