Hi,
I used PuTTY to remotely login another LINUX machine on which Oracle DB was set up there. How can I find out more details of the DB like its folders, in there?

This is a non-trivial question. You need to read the Oracle installation documentation to see how it gets set up. You should also talk to your Oracle DBA to see where/how it was installed and configured, assuming you have an Oracle DBA. If not, and you are trying to get up to speed, you have a LOT of work/study ahead of you. I have been working professionally with Oracle databases since the mid-1980's and I still have to refer to the documentation, frequently.
Anyway, to see how the database is configured, first you need to login to the Oracle account. Then you need to look at the account's environment and environment variables such as $ORACLE_HOME, $ORACLE_SID, $ORACLE_OWNER. Also, what version of Oracle was installed on the system? A lot of things change from version to version. Oracle 6 was very different from Oracle 7. Oracle 7 was very different from Oracle 8. And so on. They are at 11 now.Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
