    No Sound/Linux

    Hi,
I am using Linux and definitely a newbie. My sound was working fine for a couple of days after downloading Linux no problems. But I noticed after I downloaded World of Warcraft the sound would go out after a few minutes of being logged in. So I uninstalled WoW and figured I'd stay off it for a while until I could find a solution. However, I noticed that when I would log into my computer I would have sound fine, but after a few minutes it would just randomly shut off. Now it isn't even detecting a driver anymore and I can't get sound period. I have tried using lsof | grep pcm to see if anything was using sound and use the kill # - which used to fix the problem, but now it doesn't help. I have tried using the lspci -v in terminal and I got

Like I said I'm a complete nub at all of this so I'm not even sure what I'm looking for. Any help from a genius would be appreciated.

Now I haven't done anything except shutdown and restart my computer and the sound is back, however, if I open World of Warcraft or play games on Facebook, the sound goes out again and no driver's are found.

Next time the sound fails, check your /var/log/messages file for a corresponding error. Most recent errors are at the bottom of the file.

Try to get info about your sound card:
    Code:
     lspci | grep -i sound
then read Alsa-Configuration.txt from kernel docs about your card and available parameters. Interrupts of a sound can appear occasionaly because of incorrect driver options ( there are some variants how driver would proceed IRQs from a sound card ).

And what sound card do you have?... It's strange that sound is heard, but card is not in pci hardware list...
