Help Clearing SendMail Queue
Hi all,
I've searched through the answers in this forum, and nothing has helped me clear my email queue which now contains about 35,000 emails. Seems a relay was left open and someone found out!
sendmail -q -v does not work. It says 'invalid argument --q'
rm /var/spool/mqueue/*.* does not work - nor does deleting the directory or any of the other directories.
as a matter of fact, when I do an ls - l on the above directories, it shows 0 files.
however, when I issue the sendmail -bp command, I can see the multitude of emails waiting to be sent.
Does anybody know how I can get to them and remove them? My Plesk Control panel will allow me to remove up to 100 at a time, but that method could take days.
Am I missing something?
I have managed to stop the sendmail service - which hopefully will stop any of these queued emails from being sent in the meantime.
Thank you,
Carrie
