GNOME on centos server
I apologize if this is in the wrong area bit I figured centos fit in with the red hat crowd.
Is there any disadvantages to running gnome on a server. By default it installs with Centos 5.4 and so I was wondering if I will be faced with any major issues or not. The server will be used mostly as a webserver. Thought a virtual desktop would be nice to have but not necessary. I have been renting vps so I have never had the option. I wanted to make sure it won't have a large impact on the server's performance while it is not being actively used.
Server Specs
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz
4 GB DDR2
2 1TB RAID 1
I apologize if this question is extremely noob.

well as a system admin to another i suggest that though graphical is ok but is better that you go without gui. i found out that if you are performing something system crital and your graphical crashes you will go nuts coz you graphical get stuck at times????
anyways , graphical is also no problem till the no of clients is managable, sometimes if webserver loads is too much the gui takes too much to work. GNOME is ok, i love it coz its simple yet stilish. There is nothing impossible, for everything is possible; the impossible only takes a bit longer than the possible.
