And ho to configure the Centos 5.4 to connect to a wireless connection ?

but it doesn't help anything..
because, I've successed installled my sierra usb modem on Ubuntu 9.10 before..

and the problem is,, ubuntu is really different from CentOS..
ubuntu is son of debian,, and centOS is son of RedHat..
So,, the instruction is different too..
That's I don't know because I'm a newbie..

maybe you have a better solution,,

The link I provided came by way of a Fedora forum, an RPM based distro like CentOS. If you'll follow those directions, I think they will work for you.
