Improper Installation
I have Fedora 12(Constantine) i686 installed on my PC as my O.S.
I am very much novice in this feild (i.e. Linux),
i got a porblem that when i was trying to install the a bundle(NetBeans IDE 6.8 with JDK 6 update 20) after sometime my PC restarted itself due to electricity problem. When it was started i saw the icon of NetBeans IDE 6.8, then I tried to open it, but all in vain. A screen opens for a few seconds and then it disappears.
I think it is the problem of improper installation. And now I m totally unable to uninstall that bundle.
Help me out Plzzzzz.
I waiting..
Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome! Hard to say what might be causing that. If it were me I'd try re-downloading it and trying again. You say you are a Linux "novice." Of course, the decision is entirely yours but Fedora is a pretty difficult distro for someone just starting with Linux. Fedora is very cutting edge and you must do some configurations and adding of apps. Do you need netbeans for development or are you just wanting java for your browser? Being new to Linux, you might want to consider an easier distro like Ubuntu or SuSE.

I have tried that also, but it says, this folder exits already. Well yes, I want Net Beans for development as i have already used it and made several projects using that (Windows XP/7 as Operating System). But now i have to work on my another project for which i nead that to be installed on my PC.
I am really glad that u replied to me...
Thank u vry much for all ur suggestions..
I will welcome any type of help regarding this problem.

As it turns out, you don't need to install netbeans manually. Since Fedora 10, You can install it with the yum package manager. Open a terminal and become su, then:
After the update:Code:yum update
See here for more.Code:yum install netbeans
