Wine Help
Hey Guys,
I'm on the totally wrong forum here (as a Mac OS X user), but I figured Wine problems translate across Operating systems, so if any of you can help me, that would be great.
I'm just trying to run an old game The Neverhood on Wine. Everything has been installed, I've configured it as it should, but the damn thing doesn't run! The problem seems to be this bit:
"err:module:attach_process_dlls "shell32.dll" failed to initialize, aborting
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\windows\\system32\\winemenubuilder.exe" failed, status c0000096
fixme:wave:AudioUnit_SetVolume independent left/right volume not implemented (1.000000, 1.000000)
err:wgl:X11DRV_WineGL_InitOpenglInfo couldn't initialize OpenGL, expect problems
err:d3d_caps:WineD3D_CreateFakeGLContext Can't find a suitable iPixelFormat.
err:d3d:InitAdapters Failed to get a gl context for default adapter
fixme
11drv:X11DRV_desktop_SetCurrentMode Cannot change screen BPP from 32 to 8
Any idea what's going on? I'm a bit of a newb (only a bit!) when it comes to terminal, but a complete noob when it comes to wine. Let me know if you guys have any idea.

Hello and Welcome.
You might not get the same errors as a Linux system, if you are using Mac OS X but I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first time.
I would suggest doing a search with the error message.
Google Search
About the only thing I could tell you to do from there would be to try to find a common denominator among the posts and try to apply that to your situation. Other than that, try the Wine forum.
