    wlan0 does not appear

    Using:
    • Fedora 13
    • DLink dwa-120 (wireless USB adaptor - Yes, it may not be officially supported byt i got it working on Suse 11.2 and Ubuntu 10.04 LTS so no reason for it not to work in Fedora)
    • ndiswrapper

i have followed all the standard instructions
    installed driver correctly using ndiswrapper
yet wlan0 does not appear in response to "iwconfig"

    • module configuration already contains alias directive
    • driver installed and present

In Red Hat/Fedora, you usually have to configure a new network device.

Open the "Network" program from the menu. Click on the wireless device (to highlight it) and then click the "Edit" icon on top. Then select these options:

    Controlled by NetworkManager
Allow all users to enable and disable device
Automatically obtain IP address settings with dhcp
Automatically obtain DNS information from provider

Exit the edit mode, and then save the new configuration. A reboot may now be the best thing.
