Installing Linux with minimal size ( < 300 MB)
I have been trying to install Linux with minimal package lesser than 300 MB.
I have tried and put the kickstart which does within 700 MB(first CD) at linuxdistribution.wordpress.com/installation/]Installation.
Anyone who have ever tried writing the kickstart file for the same.

A number of distributions have ISO images for minimal installations, and install most of the ancillary software over the internet after the kernel and minimum tools are installed on the hardware. Gentoo is one distribution that has such a capability.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

I'm not too much up to speed on Red Hat or Fedora minimal installations, but Arch, Crux, Debian, and Gentoo should all give you a base install that you could try out if you want. I think you should be able to get one or more of them under the 300MB limit that you seek.

for under 300 megs, I would highly recomend you not go with redhat or fedora. Both distros are pretty bloated with stuff you probably don't need. Gentoo would be your best bet I'd imagine, but it takes a lot of work to know what's going on.
