    I have a problem in downloading "libpthread"
    when I use yum install it says that it is not available,
    I am confused of how to install this library
    I have 3 files in usr/lib : libpthread.a,....
    another question is wheter pcre is the same as libpcre, because pcre is installed
    but when I try to install libpcre it also says that it is not available
    I am new to linux so can somebody explain me this issue

    The Posix threads library is part of the standard distribution. You don't need to install it separately. What is your problem that you think you need to do so?
