    Good Afternoon,

    I was curious as to which versions of GUI would be best suited for the following:
    -Desktop computing (average user, no previous Linux experience.)
    -Desktop Server
    -Laptop
    -Just personal favorites in your opinions

    Hello and welcome!

    Gnome, KDE, LXDE, or Xfce should work out just fine for you. Many servers run with no GUI at all, so that would be a matter of personal preference just like the GUI for the desktop machine would be. The same applies to the laptop computer.
