What are the best configurations,as in hdd partition sizes and more, to use when loading fedora?

Hi and Welcome !
It depends on usage. Is it for a desktop machine or server?It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Like devils casper said, it depends on the usage. IMHO, it depends on your personal preferences.
To give you an example of what I mean, I'm dual booting Win7 and Fedora13 (because I can't seem to figure out how to start OpenLieroX on fedora). I gave 35GB of hard disk space for the ext4 partition, the one most distros use, and the remaining 70% to Win7 and my music/pictures/videos partitons.
Besides, you can always resize those with easy to use programs like GParted and stuff.
If I can prove that I can live with Linux for at least 2 months without rebooting to Windows 7, I guess all my 160GB of space would be given to this awesome OS
