Fedora 13 and internet access
Greetings all:
I just installed Fedora 13 from download and CD burn. My situation is that I cannot seem to get internet access. I have a cable modem and using a D-link router for my home wireless connection. I appreciate any help and direction. Thanks, Crzyrev

Does all this apply if my desktop is directly connected to the router and the cable access point?

most of the information is still pertinent if you are using a wired connection as well (wired connections not working is pretty rare)

Stupid obvious possibility
When I first started FC13 after installation, I could not get out. I check and I had to start the ethernet connection. Have you done that?

I think that you have to click on the computer icon at the top right, select configure VPN click on wired connection tab and Edit the system eth0 and then select the tab wired connection and check the box to connect automatically.

this card seems to have pretty flaky support, but i'm not able to find much information on it either
you could try using sky2 driver instead of skge and see if that works

I am still unable to get on the internet with my desktop system using Windows Vista Ultimate & fedora 13. It's strange because everything ran well with Fedora 12. But, I don't have ethernet on Windows side either. Help!

try this in terminal
otherwise, i'm not sure how your financial situation is, or where you are located, but you should be able to get an ethernet card with a better supported chipset for $US20 or lessCode:su - service network stop modprobe -r skge modprobe sky2 service network start
