100% diskspace yet I can create files?

    Hi Everyone,

I have just come across an old linux server at work that apparently my area manages (We are a new team and it wasnt documented anywhere!).

    if I type df -h

    one of the partitions

/dev/sdb5 mounted to /var says it has 0 space remaining and is 100% used

yet if I cd to /var I can create files or folders (which you would think I shouldnt be able to do if I the partition was full). any ideas??

    thanks.
