CentOS 5.5 network printer question
Here is what I have and what I need.
I have a network of 5 workstations connected to a Windows 2003 Server. All the workstations dual boot WinXP and CentOS 5.5. The network is not connected to the internet. The network has a HP LaserJet 4350dtn with a jetdirect card installed plugged directly into the switch for printing in Windows. The machines are not networked in the CentOS5.5 environment and the windows side and Linux side of the machines are divided so neither has access to each other.
The question is this: is there a way to allow the CentOS side of the machines to print to the printer on the network without networking the CentOS machiens together nor interacting with windows? I thought there would be some way of having the machiens print to the printer since the printer is just plugged into the switch that the machines are all plugged into.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

no network means: no network printing.
Seems, you just need to enable network on the centos machines and run cups to use that printer.
Any reason, why centos shall be without working network config?
Other than that a bunch of cheap (as in: throw away once the ink is empty) USB ink printers might help? You must always face the curtain with a bow.

Hm, well the reason they have never been networked is because I just setup Linux on all the machines where it used to be just one before that dual booted Windows and Linux and no one needed to print in Linux before.
Is there a guide I can follow to setup the network and CUPS? I have never seriously networked Linux machines before nor used CUPS. I messed around with Windows + Linux networking a little bit a long time ago.
All machines have a basic "student" user with the same password. A couple of the machines have other user accounts setup.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
