NetworkManager problems
Hello, today i bought a new PC with fedora (gnome-based) on it, but i can't seem to connect to my network.
I also have a laptop with fedora 12 which did connect to our network.
I think the problem lies with the new PC, i can't see the NetworkManager icon anymore in the bar, and i don't know how to start it since the NetworkManager daemon failed.
When it was still working I was able to see 1 other network, but on my laptop i was able to see about 10 other networks.
I hope someone could help me fix the networkmanager and possibly help me connect/fix the wireless card.
thanks in advance
(I added some things i tried in the terminal in the .txt file)

You probably need to go to the System->Administration->Networking screen and 1) enable networking, 2) enable wireless
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

heey, thanks for the response

I already tried this actually and I can't turn them on, even when i configure it not to be controlled by the networkmanager and turn them on myself, i get some error saying the configuration is missing.
I think I will try Ubuntu because i heard it works better/easier with wireless connections, so I hope it will connect with my network right away when i try Ubuntu, in any case, i've been messing to much with fedora now and i need a clean install anyway. will let you know when i get the internet working on my pc

I've tried connection to the internet with the ubuntu 10.04 live CD but I had the same problem again, the Networkmanager did not show my internet, in fact it only shows 1 network while my laptop showed about 10 other networks from the same location.
Is there any way to find those other networks that should be available? I've also tried the connect to hidden network option but that didnt seem to work :/
Is this a common problem and should i just buy another wireless card or is this something that can be fixed ?
EDIT: The networkcard is Atheros AR5xx seriesLast edited by Jef-R; 07-22-2010 at 12:21 AM. Reason: adding information
