    Hi,

The LCK file is created by the system itself once a vm is powered on. Browse to the vm's folder in the host system and delete any files that contain the LCK extension and then try to power up the vm.

That's really odd. All the .lck file basically is is a lock file that only should exist when the vm is running. I have a feeling that your .vmck file associated with that vm might have a corruption issue or be linked to the wrong folder.

Tell me about the vm you are trying to run. Is this an initial set up where you are trying to install an os, a preinstalled vm that you downloaded, or is it a suspended vm session?

fyi I hate vmware with a passion and switched to using xen about a year ago because of dealing with issues like this.

    Run through this checklist:
VMware KB: Verifying hosted virtual machine file integrity

I'm pretty sure you've got a corrupt file and this should help you track down the problem.
