Installing Fedora C12 in Asus P5GC-MX1333 with Sata HD
Hi there,
I'm trying to install Linux Fedora Core 12 in a PC with a P5GC-MX1333 motherboard from Asus and a Sata hard drive, however, when boot to the installation menu, after chosing the language and keyboard, I get a message that there seams to be no hard drive in the PC. The hard drive is detected in the post during startup, and is also detected by a Windows XP Installation CD. Can any one help me?
Thanks.

Hi and Welcome !
Does any other Linux distro detect SATA Hard disk in your machine?
Try PartedMagic LiveCD/USB and check if it detects Hard disk.
Or
Pass ide=nodma option to kernel during at startup during installation. It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Controlers
Fedora Core 12 doesn't recognize some of the controlers out there, and I have the same problem with Ubuntu installing in an Ultra 320 Controller. (Some of The Sata Controlers are recognized as storage controlers, like the older SCSIs )
I am using Kubuntu for SCSIs that I have. Try to use Kubuntu.
