Now these days i have been noticing that my linux machine is hanging . Check the processes using
# top
command and notices that
Xorg 62% of CPU ...

Xorg 62% of CPU
Hello Experts,
Now these days i have been noticing that my linux machine is hanging . Check the processes using
# top
command and notices that
Xorg 62% of CPU and sometimes more ...
Please help me in resolving this issue. I am using fedora 9 on my machines and firefox and programming tool (geany ) is used for development.

fedora is already 13, it is advised to switch, you may not experience the problem in this version

thanks coopstah13, for sharing your views and coming forward to help me
But i want the solution on fedora 9 . why the system is hanging again and again and Xorg is consuming 62% CPU.
Please tell me how to resolve this issue.

it could be a bug in xorg that was solved in a later release
what applications are running when it is using high CPU? try using htop for a better view of what is going on as well

This is proabaly a bug with a new(er) application and old(er) supporting libraries. I do not think filing a bug would help.

Get a rolling distro or upgrade.
