    Error: Can't open display !

    Hi, I am new to linux and i have just installed a redhat linux entprise 5 on my machine. I am trying to install a software and when i run the #install.ksf , my installation gets aborted and my install.log file shows this,

    Error: Can't open display !
    Environment variable 'DISPLAY' must be defined.

    Are you trying to run a graphical program in a plain
    command line system, or without the GUI running?

    I am booting in run level 3 and trying to run a graphical program from command prompt. Once than i started my X server than it is running fine.
