    Post unable to install vlc media player

    hi..
    while i was trying to install vlc media player in red hat ..
    i got the following error message
    Unable to retrieve software information
    Unable to retrieve software information. This could be caused by not having a network connection available.
    PLEASE HELP ME THIS .

    We need a bit more info. Which version of RedHat are you using? Have you purchased its License from RedHat?
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    unable to install vlc media player

    I am using red hat enterprise 5.
    I got the os from my friend.I think he has purchased its licence from red hat.
