    updating to a specific version of rhel

    I am trying to upgrade RHEL 5.0 to a specific SP...5.2, thanks to a vendor requirement...is it possible to specify the version you want to upgrade to versus an update all that will take it to the latest release?

    you should be able to download the iso's for the 5.2 release and run the upgrade from them

    I thought maybe there was a way to designate thru update??? the ISO for 5.2 is downloading as I type...thank you for your response...

    I don't think you can update that way through yum, pretty sure you need ISO disks to do it the way you want it done

    If I am understanding the question you want to upgrade a 5.0 system to 5.2 but don't want to upgrade to the latest 5.3 version. If this is what you mean, then I don't believe that is possible. An update/upgrade will put you to the latest version.
