yum install gnome-libs -failed to install
Hi All,
Sorry for put CentOS question here. but I could not posted on "centos.org" , though its related to "yum install"
I am using CentOS5.5 and want to install ORACLE 10g.
I want to install few rpms thorugh yum install. I am able to do for few rpms but for some rpms its failed like
# yum install gnome-libs
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
* addons: mirror.chpc.utah.edu
* base: centos.promopeddler.com
* extras: mirror.web-ster.com
* updates: mirror.hmc.edu
Setting up Install Process
No package gnome-libs available.
Nothing to do
Any idea how to solve this? Is it require to use oracle-validated RPM link?
Please suggest me...

I am not sure about Cent OS but may be it help you read this

IIRC, you should install libgnome, libgnomeui and libXp instead of gnome-libs for Oracle 10g.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
