    Question Install Mplayer or VLC Player

    Hi,

    I am using redhat Linux 5.4 Server Edition. I am not able to to install Mplayer or VLC Player in various formats (.rpm , tgz). Kindly give me a guidance to Solve this ....

    Error 1:-

    cannot retrieve repository metadata(repomd.xml) for repository. Please verify its path and try again.

    rhel -debuginfo
    rpmforge

    Error 2:-

    no rule to make target "buildsys.mk". Stop

    Your os is licensed or not . Type this command as root
    Code:
    #yum -y install vlc

    If you're not paying for a license, I suggest moving to a free RHEL clone like Scientific Linux or CentOS.
