Lexmark printer
I have installed the Lexmark Interact s605 all in one printer, on my Fedora 12 OS. The problem is, although the printer is connected to the pc, which in turn is connected to the internet, the printer, which has e-mail facility, says, when I try to use it, that it is not connected. The printer works fine otherwise. Has anyone else come across this problem? and if so, what is the solution?. Hope someone can help.
Thank you

I'm just conjecturing, don't have this printer. My guess is that whatever the printer driver is expecting to provide mail API/client services isn't responding. Is Evolution fully set up with server and user settings? That's the default mail client program in F12/Gnome.

Lexmark printer.
I use Yahoo not Evolution, but I don't suppose it makes any difference. I am assuming that everything is connected as all I had to do was plug into the usb and download the drivers to install the printer. My normal e-mail works ok through my pc. Maybe I've got to do something else, I honestly don't know.

So, you're using the Yahoo mail web interface through a browser? The printer driver wouldn't have any idea how to use that, it would be expecting either to launch the default e-mail client (probably Evolution), call it through a MAPI, or use a command line mail submission program like mailx (which would require an MTA to be configured).
Bottom line, you're unlikely to be able to use the mail function on your printer.

Sorry, I don't know what MAPI means.
I'm thinking of changing to Sky or Evolution for my email service, maybe this would solve the problem. Your thoughts on this idea might be helpful.
Thank you
