    Wireless Networking (Laptop) & Fedora 13

    Hey Guys;

    Recently I installed a dual-boot Windows 7 & Fedora 13 on my laptop. The installation was done yesterday, and Windows 7 runs without any issues. The problem I'm having is specifically related to Fedora 13. Just a pre-note; I'm a brand new Fedora user (command line usage for me is very basic understand/ability), and I'm mostly running of the GNOME GUI.

    So the problem I have is that Fedora cannot see/use my Wireless Network Card, which is built into my laptop. The card is a Realtec Semiconductor Corp 11b/g/n Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter II.

    Any ideas on what I can do? The only thing install/usable is the eth0 (LAN -- wired connection), which worked fine for me (I could update and connect to the internet).

    Any help would be much appreciated, and if anything is required to help (information about the hardware, or screenshots) I'll be willing to provide so long as I can obtain.

    Thanks;

    Dustin<>

    you should try connect the wireless network manually first
    system > preference > network connection > wireless > add
    Then create a new connection
    and another option is
    system > administration > network >new > wireless connection

    After attempting both of those I came across this:

    For the manual setup of the wireless network I need a SSID (?) and the MAC address, as well as a BSSID? I have NO idea what these are....especially if I need it for every single network I'm trying to connect to.

    Secondly; after your second suggestion, I noticed that under the new>wireless connection that there is an option for the adapters (drop down, when selecting both adapters & eth#), yet under this drop down menu I did not find my wireless network adapter (Realtec Semiconductor Corp 11b/g/n Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter II). Do I need to download a driver to be able to use my adapter, or is this one simply not compatible for Linux??

    Sorry if these questions seem stupid, or simple, but I really am lost in this!

    Thanks again;

    i think you manually install the required driver for wireless Network
    use this to find driver for network
    Code:
    yum search wireless
