    Software update - graphical yum

Im running a LAMP/Samba file share server on FC13. The server was installed a few weeks after the initial release of FC13 - fresh install. It have not been updated since.

Today I ran into the problems of connecting a Win 7 Home Premium client to the samba. Theres a fair few things to test for, to get it to work. One of things I thought of was to simply update the server.

Said and done. Started the software update. Got presented with this:

    Cant post images ...

Pressed Install updates, and now it seems stuck on "Checking for applications currently in use". It have not changed a bit for 2+ hours now.

    What to do?

    Terminate the update? How?

    Hi and Welcome !

Update of those two packages should not take more that a minute or two. Is internet connection working fine?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

It stood there waiting for 3+ hours. Internet Connection was just fine. Then I saw some cryptic SElinux message regarding some temp folder. I then ran yum update through terminal and it did a fine job updating all packages. Restarted the server and everything was fine, except for a SElinux incident - The www root folder had changed to samba/cifs only meaning the httpd service couldn't start.

    Smile

try to update as by terminal as root user
    Code:
    yum update samba
Take risks: if you win, you will be happy; if you lose, you will be wise.
