Major fedora / red hat install problem?

burning fedora 13 iso file to boot & install?

I just downloaded after a long wait from the net.
It saved as a .iso file.
I extracted the contents of .iso file to folder fedora 13.
Than I burned to DVD disc.
I tried to boot from the DVD (FYI using fedora 10 is installed)
Nothing happened!!!!!
How can I install fedora 13 on Fedora 10 installed on my laptop?

Do not extract the iso, burn it as an image. See this link for more info.

first thing to you have not extract the iso image of fedora 13 .
You check the iso is downloaded correctly then directly burn the iso image on a dvd disk and then tried to boot from the DVD .

again you have to backup your data . you don't upgrade your system fedora 10 to fedora 13 directly. so try to fresh install on previously installed linux

Ok I have fedora 13 iso & fedora 11 dvd but none are booting when restarting the computer?

Did you set the machines BIOS to boot from the CD/DVD first??

your dvd is booting on another system or not ?
It may be your dvd drvie is not working correctly .

I installed fed 10 on my gateway m320 notebook, but now I can't install fedora 11 or 13 from iso DVD images downloaded from the net? I have changed the BIOS settings run/boot from DVD instead of hdd but the CD does not boot, but it reads fine when I use linux/fedora browser. Please let me know what or how I can upgrade to fedora 13 ??? Any help appreciated?

if you have another system the check your dvd is boot or not if it boot on another system not on your system then your dvd- drive is not working correctly . some time this type of problem arise in old dvd drive .

How did you burn .iso image? .iso image must be burned as Image only. Check this tutorial.
