    Fedora 13's Package Manager in-operable

Fedora's GUI package manager gives me a message that I'm not connected to a network but i'm using dialup. How do I get it a list of mirrors to use to give it the data base?
    Thanks in advance!

It doesn't matter if you are connected to dialup or Broadband DSL. If Internet connection is working fine and you can surf web then Package Manager should work fine too.

    Open Terminal and execute this
    Code:
    su -
    yum clean all
    yum update
Post exact error message here, if any.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Have you try to install any package using yum?
    Execute this
    Code:
    su -
    yum -y install htop
Post exact error message here, if any.

I have a lot of Fedora Problems

I think my database is locked. I installed Mandriva 10 and have had similar problems but Mandriva's GUI lets you configure it. How do I change the downloader for Fedora? I changed Mandriva" from Curl to Wget and It has reacted perfectly. I'll try your recommendations wnen I get a chance.

    Thanks for Your Help!

    Fedora 13 is doing Better

I was trying to Change Fedora's Download Manager when I came cross this. See attachment.

That was a big update! Yums GUI ; or whatever . seems to work fine now except for when I try to update Package List it states that I am not connected to a network.

    See attachment.

I believe PackageKit uses NetworkManager to determine your connection. If NM doesn't recognize your connection, PackageKit may not either. If you're not using NM to manage your connection, disable it.

Go to System > Administration > Network. Disable NM in there.

Network Contol Device won't control dialup if NM is selected

It's not checked. I had to uncheck it so I could have 'User" control over dialup. What about the IPv6 setting?
