RHEL isn't meant for desktop/laptop use, so its wireless support isn't very good
you may be able to get it working, we can decide after you follow instructions in link provided by ved

Wireless in Linux uses kernel drivers. The kernel in RHEL is rather old, and only supports a few wireless devices. It is not possible for a regular user to add support for unsupported wireless chips to this old kernel.
If you want a Red Hat distro, but with excellent wireless support, use the Red Hat Fedora distro.Paul

you forgot to post output of lspci command
but as stated before, it is unlikely that you will get your wifi working on RHEL5 due to old kernel and it not being intended for portable system
you probably will be better off installing it in virtual machine in ubuntu instead

I suspect you will have to even upgrade your kernel to get wifi working on your laptop as it is really not meant for home use, though it is quite possible get it working but rather than wasting your precious time and energy, you may simply go for Fedora, if you really want to work on RH based system.
