No bootloader after Upgrade.
Ok so I tried to upgrade via yum. FC13 -> FC14. After I thought I was done, I rebooted, and found no grub. That black screen with the lil cursor at the top left. So I figured no big deal, Id just boot up my live FC14 disk, and figure out a way to install the bootloader from there.
First, I can't figure out how I would install grub from a live CD, assuming so is possible.
Second, Im not even sure what device it would be. I get an FC14 device, and an FC13 which still has all my files from pre upgrade. So would I want to put it on the old FC13, or the new FC14 device?

Ok so I downloaded Super Grub and I am able to boot into one of my Fedora Core partitions. For some reason after the upgrade, it gave me several. I have an FC 14 one that doesnt boot. The loading bar fills, and then nothing, but the one that says FC13 still boots. Im just not sure how this yum upgrade was supposed to work..
Anyway I had XP installed on here as well, and when I select Windows XP in SGD, that is when the old grub pops up and says, booting fedora core in 3...2...1... and when I press a down arrow I get the same things that were shown in SGD. Every time I go to windows XP it goes back into grub. Pleaseeeeee dont tell me that some how the yum upgrade completely reformated my entire windows XP partition :'(

Well I think that im pretty close to solving my problem. I got my XP partition to work again using the testdisk utility, but now when I use SGD, I keep getting this 'file not found' error. Im pretty sure that its because my /boot/grub/grub.conf file is gone now. So I was just going to boot up my FC14 live cd again and cp a backup of it from the terminal.
The problem is, no matter what I do, su, sudo etc... I just cannot for the life of me, get rw permissions on my fc14 partition. The device is /dev/mapper/live-osimg something... when its mounted how on earth can I get rw? Ive tried 'sudo nautilus' and rightclicking on it and changing permissions but it just wont let me. Really need some help here. Thanks.
