I just installed Fedora 12 on a laptop and was wondering what else should I download onto it? I will be using the laptop for programming in c++ or internet security..

Of course, it's usually better to use the default package tool for your system when it comes to installing software.

Note also that Fedora 14 is out now, and it might give you better hardware support than Fedora 12, plus official support will extend further into the future.
