How do you permanently uncheck "Keep Aligned"?

In Fedora 14, is there a setting in Configuration Editor that you can't uncheck, to uncheck Keep Aligned in right click desktop? Or, is there a piece of code that destroys that indelible check?
When that box is unchecked, it's back on the next boot. It always messes up my desktop icons.

You didn't say what desktop you are using but in KDE look at the following:

Desktop -> Behavior -> File Icons.

    Gnome desktop...

Is KDE desktop better than Gnome?

Can I have both? switching back and forth as required?

What's the big dif between gnome and KDE? Is one any faster, or more featured, or better for art and tunes, or cleaner?

It is all a matter of likes and dis-likes. I like KDE.

If you want to change between them on the login screen you can choose which one you want to boot into.

    O YeS!

So just how much can I mix into an OS to make it Prime?

I just downloaded 20 interesting Linux OS's out of the hundred possibles. I'll try to get ten on per hd.

Is there a program that could merge OS's?
Not that I care if it works as 'stable'.. but just to mess with it, to see what haps.
Like "flinging a hundred Linus OS's high up into the sky, into a lightning burst, and catching the pieces as they fall back down, in the order they touchdown"... then mount it, and test it on the Net and stuff...

What be the most componentized OS?
