Hello All,

I have a question here

I have an equallogic PS5000 array with all my VM images on a 5TB volume, I access that volume via MPIO iscsi from a single server running KVM, that server shares that volume across NFS for one VMWare server and another KVM server.

In order to improve performance, points of failure and all what you can imagine, I will like to connect the other hosts to the volume via iSCSI. The problem here is that I don't want to sacrifice performance using GFS (or any other cluster aware FS).... so I was wondering, is it possible to connect the other servers using ISCSI and mount the ext3 FS ?

There are only dvd-iso images (read only) and both kvm / VMWare images on the volume, no hypervisor is competing for any HD image... what I mean is that only one VM host is going to be writing to certain images at a gven time, so I cant expect data/fs corruption using this model... am I correct?

Would this work? any advice? I could test and have snapshots as a backup plan, but before that I need the advice of professionals and skilled members of the forum

Thank you all for your time!
