    Havent looked into it too deep, but rhel4 seems too old for a g7 machine.
    rhel/centos5 or even rhel6 might be a better choice.

    Other than that, just try it.
    But even if the installer recognizes raidcontroller and nic, I would still vote for (at least) rhel5
