Vista Red Hat dual boot
Hi,
I have a laptop running windows vista already and I need to run Red Hat 7.2/7.3 or Fedora Core 1 on there as well. I am in the process of downloading Red Hat 7.3.
I haven't done this before so I'm wondering if there are any guides out there that detail how to set this up to dual boot?
Is Red Hat 7.3 a better option over Fedora Core 1?
Any info much appreciated.
Cheers.

roscop2011,
Welcome to Linux Forums!
I don't know if Red Hat 7.2/7.3 is a new version but definitely you would be encountering tons of issues if you install Fedora Core 1. It is no longer supported. The latest if i'm not mistaken is Fedora 14.
You can boot your machine with the live cd of any linux flavor and follow the instructions regarding installation. Just be a little bit careful when you partition your HD so as to make sure you don't accidentally overwrite your files on vista.
If you can make a back-up of your important files, that might be very helpful too.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

Note that Red Hat 7.3 was released 9 years ago, so I'd highly recommend using something more recent unless you have a special purpose for using such an outdated Red Hat release. In any case, most modern distributions will offer you the opportunity to setup a dual-boot system without the need for any guide.
Best of luck with your project.oz
