Need advice on remote access centos

    Hi everyone,

I have a centos server no gui, I remembered forwarding all the command-line output though the serial port to a thin client. I cannot remebmber how to do this , but also using the installation disc to do the same thing has i don't want to have a monitor / keyboard attached to it, only via the serial connection with the thin client. If anyone can shred some light on this or has a idea that don't use the serial connection , but can still send the command-line output though that connection, it will be most grateful. I have used ssh which is great, but i can't see anyway of forwarding the output though it while using or reinstalling the os, still with the connection without a monitor / keyboard attached.

    Many thanks

I did this about 3 momths ago, redirecting output to serial on boot. I don't remeber the specifics so you'll need to look them up, but you need to mod the grub boot line in the image you are booting from to tell it to use serial at 9600 or whatever. I can remember I started searching using
    boot grub headless appliance serial
or something similar & managed to cobble together something that worked.

I didn't keep going with the project I was working on so my brain has dumped it. It was a PC appliance and they are often Serial only so I guess that's a good place to look.

    Hope that's of some help.

    Cheers
    Stu
