Hi all, I have a single user that is running on a RHEL 5.1 64 bit system that has a problem with xfce4 menu panels suddenly disapearing after being locally logged in for a few days.
I have searched and searched for any pertinent info on the web and the only thing I have seen is that missing panels in xfce seems to be somewhat common. The user is able to bring them back by running xfce-panel each time but as this person is a software engineer and expects to get right to work each time he logs in so I have been trying to come up with a permanent solution. I have roughly 250 other users running very similar setups ranging from RHEL 5.1 to RHEL 5.6 that have not exhibited any of these issues. I have gone through the problem users $HOME and removed all and any instances of GUI related configs and settings yet the problem still persists. I have also checked literally every single log on the system that could possibly have any output from the problem but nothing is ever logged even in the users .xsession-errors in his $HOME. I know that most of you will likely think this is a waste of time since he can just re-run the panel via xfce-panel, but have you ever dealt with a picky engineer?

Would anyone here happen to have seen this type of problem before and if so what did you do to remedy the situation?
Any info would be greatly appreciated, such as error logs to check that I may have overlooked or some nifty little tricks to make this users xfce sessions more stable.

Thank you for reading my post and for any help that may be provided.
