Migrating old RedHat 8.0 to VMWare

We have a very old Linux box that we need to migrate to virtual. We finally have gotten it to migrate over and the computer is bootable however we are now encountering prioblems.

It will boot the grub boot loader however it failes after that.

    Any recommendations?

Does the LSI SCSI adapter require any other modules imported into initrd?

Is there any other changes needing to be made other then changing the adapter? When we tried to boot it with the SCSI adapter, the computer wouldn't boot at all.

I still haven't gotten this working and I'm hoping to get some more help. I believe your right about sda and hda.

What do I need to change in order for it to use SDA? Or do I just need to update the fstab?
