Unhappy Boot error with new hardware

The server motherboard died, so the only option was to image the drive and transfer it to new hardware.
And for sure it doesn't want to boot on new hardware

    The error is

    Setuproot : moving /dev failed
Please see attached screenshot for full error details.

This is a production server and I’m kind of desperate...

How did you image the drive, and do you still have the old drive? Also, was the system using device ids (/dev/sdXN), UUID's, or labels in /etc/fstab? In any case, you may need to boot up with a live/rescue cd/dvd, manually mount stuff, and fix it up manually. Not fun, but if you imaged the drive well enough it should not take too long to do. The main issues are in the /boot/grub/grub.conf configuration file and /etc/fstab where you will have to either change the devices UUID's or label the file systems and then substitute the labels for the UUID's if that is the case. Myself, I prefer to use labels since that way re-imaging the drive makes it a bit more easy to migrate to a new system.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
