    Question weird ls problem

    Hi Guys,
I have a server with SL5.4 installed on a IDE 2.5''disk. Remaning all the disks are 3.5''sata. One of those sata disks have the home file system. When I use ls command to list the user directories( ls -l /home), the command do not execute and it stucks there forever. But when i execute( ls -l /home/users/ ) to view user directories/files, I can see that.
I tried the same commands with same OS running on another 3.5'' sata disk and it worked fine.
Its kinda weird. I think inode table should be on the local disk(/home) so it is same for both the OS/disks. Then I do not understand why one disk sees /home as well as /home/users other do not see /home but /home/users.
Anyone having any experience in this?
    Thanks,
    Abhi.
