Wow. RHEL is nice.
So, I am a long time Slackware user (since '95), and I just tried Scientific Linux (RHEL clone with a few customizations). I am blown away. The distribution seems insanely polished, and has a solid "feel" to it. I also like the amount of things that are preconfigured vs left to the user/administrator. It seems like Red Hat and Scientific got things "just right" for me. Are there any resources that you all would recommend for learning more about the system in depth? Google yeilds so many results, and I never know which resources are reliable. Thx in advance for any direction.

RHEL has some pretty good documentation if you haven't found it already:
Red Hat Enterprise Linuxoz

I've been running SL6 for about 2 months now - very nicely polished. One advantage I have is that I have a personal acquaintance with the SL development team at Fermi Lab since my wife is a staff scientist there, working in the computing division. Anyway, I assume you have visited their web site at Scientific Linux - Welcome to Scientific Linux (SL) Also, the community forums and FAQ's on RHEL and CentOS web sites are very relevant.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
