The memory.limit_in_bytes value at a certain memory subsystem hierarchy level is actually (fedora 14) not an upper bound on the sum of memory.limit_in_bytes in the groups lower in that hierarchy.
This is despite what is explained in cgroup manual /memory subsytem section and what looks to be logical.

Can anybody explain this contracdiction between the manual and what I see when playing with the cgroups system .
